PULILAN, Bulacan, September 26 (PIA) -- President Benigno Aquino III paid respects today to two members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines from Bulacan who died defending Zamboanga City against gunmen of the  Moro National Liberation Front - Nur Misuari faction.


They are 1Lt. John Kristopher Rama from Norzagaray town and 2Lt. Florencio Mikael Meneses from Pulilan town.


Thirty -year old Rama of the 1st Light Reaction Company of Special Operations Command was killed in a battle in Sta. Barbara village last September 19 at around 5:18 a.m.


Aquino pledged to provide housing assistance to Rama's wife Erlinda and educational assistance to his daughter Elisa Irene.


Meneses, 27 years old,  was hit by a sniper's bullet last September 21 during clearing operations in barangay Sta. Catalina.


He was rushed to the Ciudad Zamboanga Hospital, where he was treated before he succumbed to his injuries at around 4:40 a.m.  last September 23.
