Cagayan Valley’s science school leads fun run for scholars

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, January 16(PIA) – The Philippine Science High School (PSHS) in barangay Masoc here will lead a fun run for a cause on Saturday (January 18) to raise funds for its scholars.


Leo Bernal, a member of the PSHS’s administrative division said the fund raising activity dubbed FAMRUN: “Takbo ng Pamilya, Takbo ng Pagasa” aims to generate funds for the food allowance of its 300 scholars.


“This will augment the financial needs of our scholars so that they can be sufficiently supported in their quest for quality education,” Bernal said.


The activity which will start at 5:30 A.M. at the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) was proposed by the PSHS Parents Teachers and Community Association (PTCA) inorder to address food allowance of PSHS  scholars.


The race categories are 3-kilometer run for students and adults pegged at P150.00 to P200.00 respectively, 5 kilometer-run for adults at P250.00 and 10 kilometer – run for adults at P300.00.


The benefit run was co-sponsored by Saber Inn, Veterans Regional Hospital (VRH), Consumers Appliance Traders(CAT), Gorio’s Restaurant, DE Vera’s Medical Center in Santiago City, PhilHealth and RTC 3 Tuguegarao City. (BME//PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
