TUGUEGERAO CITY, Jan 3 (PIA) - - A private web design company has partnered with five Local Government Units (LGUs) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) in launching “One Cagayan Valley Region” website today aimed to promote tourism and boost economic investment in the region.

Jayson Tejada, creative director of the Flashbang Project Web Design Studio, said the web features tourist destinations in the different parts of the region, specifically the cities of Ilagan in Isabela and Tuguegarao in Cagayan and the municipalities of Sta. Ana, Penablanca, and the island of Calayan, all from the province of Cagayan.

Aside from the tourist site, the LGUs can also promote their events on festivities and culture, as well as their available service facilities, means of transportation and calendar of activities that will guide and give choices to tourists on their activities in a certain area.

“We also provided a page for the LGUs to promote their programs and activities as we want their constituents and the public to acknowledge visibility of their initiatives, programs and projects. The web can be viewed by the public up to international communities. Just log on to onecagayanvalley.com,” Tejada said.

On  his part, Kabayashi Basho, president of the Flashbang and a Japanese national, said they chose Cagayan Valley to promote as they saw the potentials of the region not only its natural tourist spots but also its rich culture and biodiversity.

Flashbang through Basho signed Memorandum of Agreement with the Local Chief Executives of the five selected municipalities to maintain the web.

On the other hand, tourism Director Blessida G. Diwa expressed her gratitude to the private company for helping the region promote the tourism industry which will surely encourage tourists to visit and experience the best in Cagayan Valley.

Tejada also stated that they initially chosen the five LGUs to launch the web but they continue to map other LGUs to reach their target of 50 LGUs to be included in the One Cagayan Valley Region website by March 2014. (OTB-PIA-2/ Cagayan)
