TUBA, Benguet, Jan. 4(PIA) - -A mining official here welcomes the move of Japanese companies who are willing to invest on mining and other industries in the country which were pledged during the visit of President Benigno Aquino III during his visit to Japan recently.
Mike Toledo, Philex Mining Corporation Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs, said that they welcome Japanese investors who are willing to make business in the country particularly in the mining industry.
Last month, during the visit of President Aquino in Japan, a lot of Japanese companies showed interest in investing in the country’s industries such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and the mining sectors.
Toledo said that the coming in of Japanese and other foreign investors in the different industries of the country is good news which means a better economy for the country.
“Isang magandang balita hindi lng sa industriya ng pagmimina pero para sa buong bayan ang planong investment ng foreign and international companies,” he said.
Toledo explained that the move of the government to invite foreign investors is a way to make sure that the economy of the country will grow and the lives of people will improve. He stressed that foreign investors in the country are assured of the best output from the Filipino workers who love their jobs and do their job very well. He added that foreign investors are not seen as a threat among the local investors.
He said investors in the mining industry are assured with the rich natural resources of the country as long as they practice responsible mining and sustainable development which are being practiced by Philex Mines and other mining companies in the country.(JDP/RC- PIA CAR)
