LEGAZPI CITY, July 24 (PIA) –Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Secretary Rodolfo A. Salalima was set to spell out the Philippines’ commitment to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the aspect of telecommunications when he visited Legazpi City last July 12 where he was to deliver the keynote address in the Forum on ASEAN ICT Masterplan (AIM).
With the theme “Harneshing ICT innovations to linchpin the Digital Economy,” the forum delved on the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s blueprint in modernizing the country’s telecommunications in line with “AIM 2020.”
The forum sought to enlighten the government stakeholders in the new approach of DICT on the implementation of the National Broadband plan of President Duterte.
Government and private entities with stake in the telecommunications industry were to send representatives to the forum.
The forum organizers noted that the Philippines has recognized the benefits of using the modern technologies as it could help empower the Filipino people to experience a hassle-free and more productive government transactions.
