MANILA, 22 March (PIA) – The United States Ship (USS) New Orleans (LPD-18) will arrive in Manila today for a routine port call that highlights the strong historic, community, and military connections between the United States and the Philippines.
The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship is commanded by Cdr. David Ray and crewed by approximately 360 sailors and some 750 Marines from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
While in Manila, the New Orleans will replenish its supplies and will allow its crew to rest and relax.
According to the U.S. Embassy Manila, the USS New Orleans is part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet homeported in San Diego, California.
