NBI Clearance online application now available

QUEZON CITY, Jan. 24 (PIA)The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that applicants for the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance can now apply and fill out the complete form online starting January 24, 2014.


According to NBI Director Virgilio Mendez the online application can be accessed at or at


Mendez said that after the online registration, applicants may proceed directly to any of the fifty-five (55) sites nationwide for payment and biometric enrollment for the release of the clearance. A list of these areas is available at


Mendez added they expect significant progress in the coming weeks with the delivery of additional equipment and increase in personnel.


He also said that the Renewal Module will be implemented next.


The NBI Clearance System is a component of the flagship National Justice Information System (NJIS) to link and share information among justice sector institutions.


With the implementation of the NBI System, the DOJ hopes to eliminate queues and simplify the process of clearance application and renewal. (DOJ/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
