BOHOL, Oct. 25 (PIA) --- President Benigno Aquino III is determined to exert all efforts to bring back Boholanons lives to normal.
“Isang Bayan, isang lahi, magtutulungan po tayo,” the President said.
In his visit in Sagbayan town recently, Aquino promised to revive Bohol. He said this in front of the families affected by the recent earthquake citing that major damage in most of the areas in Bohol including Sagbayan which is said to be one of the epicenters of the quake.
The president said that he is doing this because he considers the country and the people as his ‘boss’.
“Ginagawa natin ang lahat para sa ikakabuti ng ating mga kababayan dito dahil itunuturing nating boss ang mga tao at ang bayan,” he said.
Aquino added that government is fasttracking the completion of the data needed so as to identify prioritiis that would bring Bohol back to normal immediately.
The president also said that most of the ports in Bohol are already operational welcoming tourists to visit Bohol attractions.
In terms of food supply he also clarified big difference in food packs being distributed as to the number of affected families.
The President said 163,000 family food packs were already distributed to about 60,000 affected families, "diba hamak na mas marami po ang ating napamigay na food packs,” Aquino added.
He said that most families of the casualties of the recent quake were already given assistance and aid.
The President then stressed that the government is capable to address all the needs of the people suffering from the aftermath of the calamity and for Bohol to rise again.
“May kakayanan ang gobyerno na tugunan ang mga pangangailangan n gating mga kababayan ditto,” President Aquino said.
Prior to his visit in Sagbayan town, the President also visited the towns of Loon and Tubigon where he conducted damaged infrastructure inspections, distribution of relief goods through the DSWD and a briefing with the members of National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council. (mbcn/AYS/PIA7)
