DSWD-Basey distributes 4Ps cash grant in Basey, Samar

BASEY, W. Samar, Feb 18 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Basey, Western Samar in coordination with the Municipal Mayor’s Office is currently releasing the cash grant from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program for Basey, Western Samar for the period November to December 2012 on February 15-22, 2013 at the Basey I Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

According to Ms. Mercy Caboboy, Basey Minicipal Information Officer, last February 15, the distribution was conducted in the following barangays: Guirang, Cogon, Cancaiyas, Canmanila, and Panugmunon; while on February 16, the distribution was in Brgy. Buintigui-an, Loog, Pelit, Sugca, Serum, Salvacion, Baybay, Mercado, and Lawa-an.

For barangay Inuntan, Mongabong, Can-abay, San Antoniop, Iba, Tingib, and Buscada, the distribution was on February 17; and on February 18, it will be in Barangay Manlilinab, Mabini, Baloog, Burgos, Old San Agustin, Amandayehan, May-it, Bulao, Binongtu-an, Anglit, Loyo, and Mangallanes.

On the 20th of February, it will be in Barangay Del Pilar, Basiao, Catadman, Sugponon, Villa Aurora, Balud, Cambayan, New San Agustin, and Sulod; and on February 21, in Barangay Tinaogan, Balante, Bacubac, Dolongan, Roxas, Sawa, and Buenavestia.

The last set of distribution will be in Barangay San Fernando and Palaypay which is scheduled on February 22, 2013.

Meanwhile, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, otherwise known as 4Ps, is a development program of the national government that invests in the health and education of poor households, particularly of children aged 0-14 years old.

The 4Ps provides cash grants to beneficiaries provided that they comply with the set of conditions required by the program. (PIA-8)
