CEBU CITY, Jan. 7 (PIA) ---- The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is holding a songwriting contest to mark the celebration of Cebu Business Month in June this year.
The competition hopes to draw out a song piece that will creatively express the brand values of Cebu Business Month 2014 with the theme: “ASEAN 2015 and Beyond!”
Judges for the contest are some of Cebu music industry’s most influential names who will consider the entries based on originality, lyrics, melody, and commercial appeal.
Copyright to the song entries must be owned exclusively by the songwriter-contestant who should warrant that his or her entry is not contracted by any third party.
The contest is open to everyone, including non-Filipino citizens.
Only members of the screening committee are disqualified from joining the contest.
Contestants can also collaborate with friends, family or with more than one songwriter for their entries.
Entry song must not exceed four minutes and thirty seconds, including the intro and extro.
English lyrics are preferred, but Cebuano or Filipino terms may also be used if it contributes to the overall charm and effect of the song.
Deadline for submission of entries is on Jan. 16, 2014.
