NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Sept.30 (PIA6) - - The San Carlos City, Negros Occ. Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) Technical Working Group and Joint Inspection Team have recently visited Silay City for a benchmarking of the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS), a press release from Silay City said.
The visit led by San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. and Vice Mayor Edgardo Quisumbing and all of their BPLS team were eager to learn the implementation of the streamlined BPLS of Silay.
They were welcomed by Acting Mayor Mark Golez, City Administrator Noel Doloriac, Permits and License Division OIC Alma de La Cruz,Project Development assistant Wilfredo Sayon Jr., and other Silay City officials.
Sayon said Silay BOSS generated a 33 percent increase in the business permits registration in 2013. The city is the first local government unit in Negros Occ. To comply with the requirements of the BPLS and passed the national standards of business registration.
Under the system, a joint inspection team does a personal check of the business establishment first before its application is approved and the regulatory clearances are released.
The process has been streamlined into five steps and, in 30 minutes, an applicant can already operate a business.*(Silay City/JCM/CD/PIA6)
