NEGROS OCC., September 27 (PIA6)--Ten public elementary schools in Bacolod City are beneficiaries of the Nutripan sa Paaralan Feeding Program for SY 2013-2014, a press release from the City PIO office said.
One thousand five hundred identified malnourished schoolchildren from Grades 1 to 3 in these schools will be receiving a glass of milk and Nutritious Pandesal fortified with Iron and Vitamin A during recess time.
The launching was recently held at the Vista Alegre Granada Elementary School, VAGRES, with Mayor Monico Puentevella gracing the activity. Also present during the launching program was Asst. Schools Division Superintendent Clarissa Zamora and principals of the 10 Elementary schools.
Mr. Riggie Lachica, Principal of VAGRES thanked the City Government for its assistance in alleviating malnutrition in schools having been chosen as one of the recipients of Nutripan feeding program for the past years.
The following schools are included in this school year’s program: Estefania Elementary School, F. Gonzaga Elementary School, ISLA Elementary School, Patricia Homes Elementary School, VAGRES, A. Lizares Elementary School, Mandalagan Elementary School, Fr. Gratian Murray Integrated School, Paglaum Village Elementary School and Pahanocoy Baybay Elementary School.
The City Urban Basic Services Division coordinated with the principals and Feeding Teachers to ensure the sustainability of the activity to improve the nutritional status of the school children. (JCM/LOL/PIA6)
