Quimpo ku Enero 9, 2017 kon siin presente ro tanan nga mga miyembro, ag gin-aprobahan ni Governor Florencio Miraflores.
 
Sa tawag nga ‘BAG-HAY’ (Bagong Buhay Handum Naton), ro kampanya kontra droga hay ginpatigayon it APPO kaibahan ro Provincial Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development (PAC-PTD) ag mga katapu it Aklan Police Strategy Management Unit (APPSMU).

KALIBO, Aklan, 17 February (PIA6) --  An initiative of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) of mounting a provincewide advocacy campaign against illegal drugs recently elicited support and appreciation from the Aklan Sangguniang through a resolution.
 
The resolution was sponsored by SP Member Nemesio Neron during the Aklan SP’s first regular session of the 17th Sangguniang Panlalawigan presided by Vice Governor Atty. Reynaldo M. Quimpo on January 9, 2017 with all members present, and approved by Governor Florencio T. Miraflores.
 
Dubbed ‘BAG-HAY’ (Bagong Buhay Handum Naton), the provincewide advocacy campaign was conducted by the APPO together with the Provincial Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development (PAC-PTD) and the members of the Aklan Police Strategy Management Unit (APPSMU).
 
Its initial series of activities held late last year, composed of poster and slogan-making contest, 3K Run/Walk and SIKAD Kontra Droga sa BAGHAY, Symposium lectures and testimonials, ecumenical prayers and candle-lighting and a benefit concert did not go unnoticed by the Aklan SP, so it came out with Resolution No. 2017-175.
 
The Poster and Slogan-Making Contest was held November 17, 2016 at the Activity Area of City Mall-Kalibo, participated in by One Hundred Fifty (150) contestants from various schools of the province who, through their artworks/entries, showcased a life free from illegal drugs and the dangers of using it.
 
On the other hand, the 3K Run/Walk and SIKAD Kontra Droga held November 19 were joined respectively by 1,205 runners and 153 bikers.
 
The group also conducted a symposium, lectures and testimonials with the theme :BAG-HAY’: Daean sa Pagkabaeaka, Pag-Edukar ag Pagbag-o” at the Aklan Catholic College Covered Gym which was attended by stakeholders, OPLAN Tokhang surrenderers in Aklan, and youth leaders.
 
The group conducted these series of activities with the aim of helping OPLAN Tokhang surrenderers rebuild their lives and re-integrate in the community and support the relentless efforts of the Aklan PNP with the ultimate goal of eradicating drug menace in Aklan.
