Bridaga Eskwela kicks off in Baguio City

BAGUIO CITY, May 17(PIA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) in this mountain resort kicked off its Brigada Eskwela at the San Vicente National High School  here this week in preparation for the opening of classes this  school year.

DepEd is spearheading the  2017 Brigada Eskwela frrom May 15 to 20 with the theme, "Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan".

The Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools’  Maintenance Week that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities ready for the opening of the  new school year in June.

Through the support of various agencies and the Parents-Teachers Asscociations, school facilities are  repaired and improved and school surroundings are beautified. 

Mayor Maurico Domogan  thanked  all the stakeholders in supporting the Brigada Eskwela which shows spirit of  volunteerism.  

The Brigada will ensure that our children will have a regular class come the first day of classes and everything will be in proper order, Domogan added. (JDP/JBZ- PIA CAR)

US Embassy, UP-IIS host ‘iftars’ in honor of Ramadan
