Tagalog news: Benepisyaryo ng SPES sa Palawan umabot ng 473

PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan, Mayo 14 (PIA) --- Umabot sa 473 ang benepisyaryo ng Special Program for the Employment of Students o SPES ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ngayong 2017.

 

Ang SPES ay isang batas na ipinatutupad sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) upang matulungan ang mga kabataan na magkaroon ng hanapbuhay tuwing panahon ng bakasyon.

 

Sa Republic Act No. 10917 o ang amended Special Program for Employment of Students, itinaas ang kwalipikasyon sa edad ng aplikante sa 15 hanggang 30 taong gulang batay sa petsa ng kanilang aplikasyon mula sa dating 15-25 taong gulang lamang upang mas marami ang matulungan ng nasabing programa.

 

Ayon Kay Provincial Public Employment Service Office (Provincial PESO) Program Manager Richard Rebote, nagsimula na sa kanilang trabaho noong Mayo 2 ang mga benepisyaryo ng SPES sa Palawan at magtatagal ito hanggang sa Mayo 31.

 

Ang 60 porsiyento ng sahod ng benepisyaryo ng SPES ay magmumula sa employer nito at ang natitirang 40 porsiyento ay manggagaling sa pamahalaan.

 

Dagdag ni Rebote, pinalawak din ang sakop ng programa hindi lamang sa mga mahihirap na estudyante kundi maging sa mga out-of-school youth at sa mga manggagawang nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa pagsasara ng negosyo, pagpapatigil ng trabaho o dulot ng kalamidad. Pinahaba rin nito ang panahon ng pag-empleyo sa mga benepisyaryo. Mula sa dating 20 hanggang 52 araw, ang benepisaryo ng SPES ay maaari nang magtrabaho nang hanggang 78 araw maliban sa panahon ng bakasyon tuwing Kapaskuhan kung saan ang trabaho ay mula 10 hanggang 15 araw lamang. May katumbas na academic at practicum o on-the-job training credit ang serbisyo ng benepisaryo. (OCJ-PIA MIMAROPA, Palawan)
