LUCENA CITY, Quezon, August 9 (PIA) --The city government of Lucena through the Lucena Council for Culture and the Arts (LCCA) is holding a short film festival at Pacific mall event theatre, on 17 August as part of the weeklong celebration of “Araw ng Lucena” on 20 August.
In a radio interview, Alfred Marquez of LCCA said the contest aims to discover talents of students from the different universities and colleges in Lucena City who are involved in digital arts/film making.
According to Marquez, the activity also aims to promote the local products of Lucena City particularly ‘chami’ and ‘tinapa’.
Last day of submission of entries is on 10 August 2017 while the contest proper is slated on 17 August.
The finalists will receive a cash prize of P5,000 and the champion will receive a special trophy according to Marquez.
Aside from film festival, there will be also a cultural presentations on August 14 and awarding of medal/plaque to outstanding Lucenahin on 20 August, the Araw ng Lucena. (Ruel Orinday, PIA-Quezon)
