Batangueno artists, tampok sa paglulungsad ng art exhibit sa SM City Lipa

LUNGSOD NG LIPA, Batangas, Hulyo 17 (PIA)- Tampok ang mga natatanging Batangueno artists sa paglulunsad ng "My City, My SM, My Art" sa SM City sa lungsod na ito noong Hulyo 13.

Ang naturang proyekto na inisyatibo ng SM Supermalls at isinasagawa sa iba’t-ibang mga lugar ay nagbigay pugay sa mga Batanguenong artists na nagpapakita ng kanilang mga gawa at obra na maituturing na hindi lamang sa lokalidad kilala kundi may potensyal na maging kilala din sa ibang bansa.

Ayon kay John Mauhay, Assistant Mall Manager, ito ang pinakabago sa serye ng kanilang mga programa kung saan tampok ang bahagi ng kampanya sa Turismo.

Sinabi ni Provincial Tourism Officer Atty. Sylvia Marasigan na ang sining ang itinuturing na puso at kalukuwa ng Batangas kung kaya’t sa mga programa ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ay hindi ito maaaring mawala.

“Ang kultura at sining ng mhga Batangueno ay mayaman at isa ito sa nais ni Governor Mandanas na mabigyan ng tutok upang huwag itong tuluyang mawala bagkus ay dapat mapagyaman pa lalo at maraming mga Batangueno ang nakikitang umuusbong na may ganitong talent. Tatlo po ang purpose ng patuloy na pagbuhay natin sa sining,una,ito ay isang memorable experience para sa sinumang nakaranas nito,ikalawa ang pagbibigay ng kabuhayan sa mga cultural worker at ikatlo ang pagkakaloob ng proteksyon sa mga visual artists.”, ani Marasigan.

Binuo ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ang Batangas Province Tourism Council at Batangas Province Culture and Arts Council  upang mapangalagaan ang mga artists sa lalawigan.

Kaugnay nito may mga art exhibit din na binuksan at bubuksan pa  sa iba’t-ibang bayan tulad ng Alitagtag, Mataas na Kahoy, Tanauan City at San Juan na magtatampok sa mga gawang Batangueno.

Ilan sa mga Batangueno artists na binigyang parangal ay sina Jonathan Olazo (abstract impressionist) ,Paulina Luz Sotto, apo ni National Artist Arturo Luz at apo sa talampakan ni Segunda Katigbak-Luz, Dr. Marichu Liwag-Carstensen at mga estudyante nito sa Lipa Youth Art Club, Chito Segismundo, Donna Gayle Villegas, mga mag-aaral sa Batangas State University Thema Arts Society at Grupo Sining Batangueno, isang samahan ng mga artists sa lalawigan tulad nina Joseph Albao, Rex Tatlonghari at Randy Macalindong. Kabilang din sa kinilala ang mag-amang Jun at Bo Cumagon (painter at sculptor).

Bilang panghuli ay isinagawa ang cake slicing na siyang hudyat ng pagbubukas ng art exhibit na tatagal hanggang Hulyo 20.

Ayon kay Lipa City Administrator, isang magandang pagkakataon ito para sa mga kababayang Batangueno na ipakita ang kanilang mga gawa at maaaring ito ang magbigay ng malaking oportunidad sa kanila. (GG/BHABY P. DE CASTRO-PIA BATANGAS)
