ASEAN hub, binuksan sa PIA Calabarzon

LUNGSOD NG BATANGAS, Marso 17(PIA)- Pormal na binuksan ang PIA CALABARZON  ASEAN Hub sa tanggapan nito sa Calamba City, Laguna noong Marso 15.

Layunin nitong lalong mapalakas ang pagpapakalat ng mga kabatiran ukol sa ASEAN o Association of Southeast Asian Nations kung saan sa taong ito ay ang Pilipinas ang nakatalaga para sa chairmanship at may temang “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World”.

Ang pagbubukas ng naturang hub ay bahagi ng ASEAN Awareness campaign ng Philippine Information Agency at isang paraan upang maipalaganap ang mga impormasyon ukol sa ASEAN sa pamamagitan ng mga flyers, leaflets at iba pang information materials.

Ayon kay PIA IV-A Regional Director Cristina Arzadon maraming mga nakalatag na aktibidad para sa ASEAN kabilang na dito ang paglulunsad ng chairmanship nito na isinagawa noong Enero sa SMX Davao. Magkakaroon din ng 30th ASEAN Summit sa darating na Abril; grand celebration 50th anniversary of ASEAN sa Agosto 8, 2017 at 31st ASEAN Summit sa Nobyembre ng taon.

Aniya, may tatlong pillars ang ASEAN kabilang ang socio-cultural community na pinamamahalaan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), economic community sa ilalim ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) para sa political security community.

Kaugnay nito, ipinaliwanag naman ni Gng. Teresita Gonzaga mula sa DTI SME Development Division ang mga hakbang na ginagawa ng kanilang ahensya upang maging competitive ang lahat ng micro-small and medium enterprises hindi lamang sa buong bansa kundi maging sa buong mundo.

Ayon kay Gonzaga, patuloy ang kanilang SME Roving Academy kung saan itinuturo nila sa mga SMEs ang capability building katulad ng tamang branding at marketing para sa kanilang mga produkto at serbisyo gayundin ang pagsali sa mga trade fairs upang mas makilala ang kanilang mga negosyo.

Bukod pa rito, nagbibigay din sila ng productivity trainings para mas lalong mapalakas at mapaganda ang mga serbisyo at produkto upang mas maging globally competitive gayundin din ang kapasidad ng mga MSMEs na ito .

Maraming mga Shared Service Facilities na din ang ipinagkaloob ng DTI sa mga kooperatiba o asosasyon na may kaugnay sa manufacturing kung saan nagbibigay sila ng mga kagamitan o makina na kailangan upang mas mapaganda ang serbisyo.

Sinabi pa ni Gonzaga na patuloy rin ang paglalagay nila ng mga Negosyo Centers sa iba’t-ibang tanggapan ng DTI gayundin sa mga lokal na pamahalaan. Pangunahing layunin nito na mabigyan ng gabay ang lahat ng nagnanais magtayo ng maliit na negosyo.

Ang ASEAN ay binubuo ng ten-member countries kabilang ang Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines at Vietnam. (GG/BHABY P. DE CASTRO-PIA BATANGAS)
