TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite, July 11 (PIA) – Another road infrastructure project is on a fast track construction linking Cavitex to C5 Road in answer to the daily problem in traffic congestion and to make way for faster travel from Cavite to Taguig, Makati, Pasay, Pasig, and Quezon City.

This project is called the C5 South Link with an estimated 10 billion pesos worth which is divided into two phases.

The first phase connects a flyover from C5 in Taguig to Merville Subdivision.

The road construction from Merville Subdivision will connect to the C5 extension road that cuts through Parañaque-Las Piñas area and passes thru a 6-lane (3 lanes on each side) to the coastal road interchange that serves as entryway to the province of Cavite.

Phase 2 is currently on its way with the clearing of establishments (business, industrial and residential) that are on the path of construction along Merville Subdivision in Parañaque City and which will cost Php7.5 billion.

The said project is part of the road network project that aims to relieve the perennial traffic congestion problem in the Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Cavite area and is expected to service 40,000 to 45,000 vehicles on a daily basis.

C5 South Link is also a project of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. and is seen to be connected soon to Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAx). (GG/Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite with reports from DILG-Cavite)
