BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 3 (PIA) – Former Governor Ruth Padilla, chairman of the Nueva Vizcaya Tourism Council (NVTC), said the provincial government will establish a Cultural Arts Center (CAC) to train and promote the heritage and art skills of Novo Vizcayanos.

Padilla said the PLGU and the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) in this town have already signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the provision of a two-hectare lot inside the campus for the CAC.

The CAC, she said, which has an initial fund of P3 million, will be the first of its kind in the Cagayan Valley region which will also cater to other provinces.

“We have a lot of talented Novo Vizcayanos. This will be a venue to showcase our useful culture and traditional practices of our indigenous people and to teach our villagers to appreciate arts and culture,” Padilla said.

She said the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will be providing technical assistance once the CAC’s construction will start anytime this year.

The CAC will have a theatrical stage and an amphitheater and a gallery to encourage cultural learning and art appreciation, Padilla said.

“We expect that this will also attract local and foreign tourists and our fellow Novo Vizcayanos from here and abroad because we are encouraging them to first patronage our turf in terms of tourism exposure so that we can promote our province more,” she said. (ALM/BME/PIA-2 Nueva Vizcaya)
