Iluko writers to hold literary convention

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 15 (PIA) – Iluko writers will be holding their 9th Literary Convention next month at the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) hostel in Poro Point, San Fernando City, La Union.

 

The convention, whichwill  be conducted by the Timpuyog Dagiti Mannurat iti Iluko iti Filipinas, Inc. (TMI-Filipinas) and TMI Global will run from April 21-23 will carry the theme: Let Us Strengthen the Growth and Propagation of Iluko Literature Among the Schools.

 

Amadeo Dulay, TMI convention coordinator said the event will draw 100 participants from TMI members here and abroad composed of students, teachers and Iluko writers.

 

He said the objectives of the literary conference using the multi-lingual approach are: to enhance the writing skills of Iluko writers, especially the young, in the different genres like essay, short story, poetry, feature articles and news.

 

It will also update the participants on the development of Iluko orthography and grammar including nuances of the language. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
