PDRRMC approves P163.123M LDRRM fund for 2018

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, July 7 (PIA) – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of this province has approved the allocation of P163.123M fund of Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management (LDRRM) fund for 2018.

 

Approved during the council's third quarter regular business meeting on July 6, Isabela PDRRM Officer Edmond Guzman said 30% or P48.937 million of the LDRRM budget is allotted for Quick Response Fund and can only be used when the province is declared under State of Calamity.

 

He said P114.186 million or 70% of the budget is for preparedness and mitigation, response and rehabilitation programs and projects.

 

Guzman said under the preparedness, mitigation and climate change adaptation, a reforestation program is set to be conducted in the province's reforestation sites.

 

He said LDRRM will also conduct planting of bamboo seedlings and fruit -bearing trees in river banks, construction of seawall at the coastal towns of Maconacon, Palanan, Divilacan and Dinapigue in this province and many others. (MDCT/MGE – PIA-2/Isabela)
