CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, May 10 (PIA) – The local chief executive here has declared May 11, 2017 as a special non-working holiday all over the province in commemoration of its 161st foundation anniversary.
Governor Faustino G. Dy III, in a signed Executive Order No. 2017 – 23, said it is the policy of the State to ensure that Filipino heritage and culture are cultivated, promoted and sustained.
He said the province has a well-established annual tradition of celebrating its founding anniversary where all government employees, members of the private sector and other stakeholders are encouraged to participate in and witness the many cultural and trade activities conducted during the event.
Presidential Proclamation 108 issued by then President Joseph Ejercito Estrada on May 10, 1999 declared May 11th of every year a Special Day in the entire province to give the people full opportunity to celebrate the milestone in their history. (ALM/MGE – PIA-2/Isabela)
