BFP organizes barangay fire brigade

SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, March 10 (PIA) - - The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here targeted to organize a fire brigade in all the 37 barangays here in a bid to provide emergency firefighting services at the barangay level.

 

Dianne Bruno, BFP fire officer here, said the bureau, in partnership with the city government, will train barangay officials and volunteers with the basic refresher course in fire prevention who will become part of the barangay fire brigade.

 

Bruno said fire volunteers will be given medical and first aid training so they can help people in other ways. 

 

“We the bureau encourage all barangays all over the region to endeavor to organize their own fire brigades especially that summer season is about to start ,” the fire officer said.

 

She said, once organized, the barangay fire brigade shall be responsible for the development of fire prevention programs and plans of action to address possible fire situation in the community through the assistance of the bureau. (ALM/MGE – PIA-2/Isabela)
