TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, July 7 (PIA) - - Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) region 2 will be distributing P351,000 worth of food carts to 35 ambulant vendor-beneficiaries of the Negosyo sa Kariton (NegoKart) project in Pamplona town.
The livelihoods to be funded under the NegoKart project include four ice cream making and vending, one balot vending, eight fish vending, six fish and vegetable vending, six vegetable and fruit vending, two cooked food and snack vending and eight snack vending.
Regional Director Manuel C. Roldan said each beneficiary will be provided with a vending cart and accessory livelihood tools as well as working capital amounting to P9, 950 for the procurement and production of marketable goods and services and group insurance of P50.00.
The benefiaries will also undergo trainings and seminars on Social Preparation, Entrepreneurship and Development Training, and Simple Bookkeeping.
The Local Government Unit of Pamplona, on the other hand, will provide additional capital of P5, 000.00 to each beneficiary.
“With this, ambulant vendors will have the chance to increase, upgrade and diversify their products and services with the use of the vending carts, and market the same to more buyers and costumers in a wider range,” Roldan said.
The Nego Kart project is part of the DOLE's effort to assist the unemployed and one of the many DOLE programs that is geared towards the improvement of lives of many hard working, but low-income vendors. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan with reports from Jolina Pelovello)
