Quirino province to stage 3rd Motorismo Festival

CABARROGUIS, Quirino, April 18 (PIA) - - It’s all systems go for the 3rd Motorismo Festival where thousands of riders and spectators are expected to flock at the Provincial Capitol Tourism Sports complex and Festival Plaza to witness the different motor bike events on April 28 to May 1, 2017.


Orlan Baliton of the Provincial Tourism Office  said the riders are expected to arrive on April 28  for the Unity Ride and Camp at Siitan River in Nagtipunan. He said some 1,000 riders will be joining the unity ride which will take off on April 29 at  exactly 6 a.m.  from Landingan Viewpoint to the Capitol Oval.


The festival will be opened on April 29 at 8 a.m. with Habal-Habal Challenge and synchronized exhibition of some 15 stunt riders (3 teams) of UA Mindanao.


The first day of the Motocross Challenge will follow at 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and it will be continued on April 30 (whole day) simultaneously with the Motor Show of some 50 bikes at the provincial Gymnasium.


Also, the Endurance Challenge Riders (Underbone and Big Bikers) are expected to arrive on the third day.  The riders in this challenge will follow the prescribed routes starting at the Capitol compound passing though checkpoints along Tuguegarao City (400 cc and up); Sta Fe, Nueva Vizcaya; San Jose City, Nueva Ecija; Baler, Aurora and Maddela Quirino. The finish line will be the same where the starting point shall take place.


The awarding ceremonies will be held at the VIP Grandstand and it will be followed by the Victory Concert featuring Shamrock and Mark Mabasa, X-Factor Philippines finalist.


The last day of the festival shall feature the Drag Race in front of the Quirino Province Medical Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Baliton has advised  the motorists and commuters to take note of the roads to be affected by the rerouting  scheme to give way to the whole day drag race.


He assured that announcement of the alternate routes and posting road signs will be done early to avoid traffic congestion during the said event.


The Enduro Trail competition will also be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the last day of the festival. (ALM/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
