DAGUPAN CITY, April 11 (PIA) - With the expected influx of motorists coming in and out of Pangasinan for the Lenten Season, the Department of Public Works and Highways has once again set up assistance centers in strategic areas to assist travellers on the road.
Bernard Caronongan, public information officer of the DPWH in the Second Engineering District, said the ‘Lakbay Alalay’ project in his area has set up four teams composed of engineers and mechanics to help motorists along the road.
“Kapag may mga nasiraan o hindi alam ang daan o mga nahilo sa daan, andiyan ang team natin na handang umalalay. May service vehicle din tayo na pwedeng maghatid sa kanila sa pinakamalapit na pagamutan o gas station,” Caronongan said during the ‘Pantongtongan Tayo’ radio program of the Philippine Information Agency.
Caronongan said Team A has been prepositioned at the Mangaldan-Manaoag road with base in San Jacinto; Team B at Dagupan City-La Union boundary with base in Barangay Bonuan; Team C at the Pangasinan -Tarlac road with base in Socony, Bugallon; and Team D at the Pangasinan-Zambales road with base at the San Carlos-Binmaley intersection.
He said the fifth team is at the DPWH office in Lingayen which receives call and throws report of the district to the regional office every six hours.
The Lakbay Alalay project has commenced on April 10 and will pack up on April 17.
