Tagalog news: Pagsasanay sa produksyon ng pulot sa Buenavista, Marinduque isinagawa ng UPLB

BUENAVISTA, Marinduque, Mayo 14 (PIA)-- Nagsagawa ng pagsasanay tungkol sa product and development ng pulot ang mga propesor mula sa University of the Philippines Los Banos na dinaluhan ng mga kasapi ng Aktibo ng Nakikilahok sa Ikauunlab ng Barangay Barakay (ANIB).

Sa nasabing pagsasanay sa pangunguna ni Dra. Cleofa Servancia ng Institute of Biological Science ng UPLB, tinuruan dito ang miyembro ng ANIB kung papaano isalin sa panibagong produkto ang mga pulot na naaani nila mula sa mga lukto o "stingless bee". Ilan kasi sa mga produktong kanilang naibebenta na sa merkado ng Marinduque ay mga sabon at gamit pampaganda.

Ayon sa Department of Science and Technology (DOST), nakahanda silang tumulong sa packaging at labeling kung saan mailalagay rito ang nutritional analysis at shelf life testing upang malaman ng mga konsyumer ang tagal ng paggamit ng produktong kanilang maaaring mabili lalo na kung ito ay pagkain.

Balak din aniya nilang ilabas sa bansa ang mga pulot kapag natapos na nila ang pagdedesenyo ng pakete. Dagdag ng DOST, mataas daw kasi ang demand nito kapag ginawa itong kalakal-panluwas.

Dahil dito, nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga nabibilang sa ANIB na kumita mula sa kanilang naipagbibili maliban sa kanilang kita sa pagsasaka.

Naging tulay sa proyektong ito ang Norwegian Missionary Alliance of the Philippines, isang non-governmental organization (NGO) na nagsulong ng ganitong proyekto kung saan adbokasiya nila ang pagtulong sa mga kabataan, kababaihan, mga taong may kapansanan at iba pang sektor ng lipunan na may pangangailangan. US Embassy, UP-IIS host ‘iftars’ in honor of Ramadan
