Tagalog news: M’duque Provincial Veterinary Office, nanghuli ng mga asong gala sa Torrijos

TORRIJOS, Marinduque, Marso 19 (PIA) – Bilang pakikiisa sa taunang Rabies Awareness and Control Program ng Department of Health ngayong buwan ng Marso, nanghuli ng mga asong gala ang Provincial Veterinary Office (PVetO) sa bayan ng Torrijos.

Pinangunahan ni Dr. JM Victoria, Provincial Veterinarian, ang pagdakip sa mga asong hindi nakatali at gumagala-gala sa kalye lalo na sa barangay ng Dampulan.

Matatandaan na noong Nobyembre 2016 sa pagbisita ni Victoria sa Association of Barangay Council Meeting ng Torrijos, isa ang barangay Dampulan sa tatlong barangay na hinikayat ng PVetO na makiisa sa kanilang kampanya kontra rabies.

Bukod sa layunin nilang maibaba ang ilang ng mga nabibiktima ng mga asong gala na nagdudulot din ng aksidente sa mga motorista, hangad din nila na mapagtibay ng taga-Dampulan ang RA 9482 at RA 8485 o mas kilala sa tawag na “The Animal’s Welfare Act” kung wala pa silang barang ordinances na pinapatupad sa kanilang barangay.

Tinitiyak din ng Tanggapan ng Panlalawigang Beterinaryo na ang paraan ng paghuli ay naaayon sa probisyon ng Animal Welfare Act of 1998 at ng Anti-Rabies Act of 2007. (PIA-MIMAROPA/Marinduque)
