Tagalog news: Pandaigdigang kumperensyang ‘Geeks On A Beach’, gaganapin sa Puerto Princesa

PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan, Hunyo 25 (PIA) --- Kasado na sa ika-24-25 ng Agosto sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa ang isasagawang ‘Geeks On A Beach (GOAB)’, isang pandaigdigang kumperensya na inorganisa ng kompanyang TechTalks.ph katuwang ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Layon ng gawain na mabigyan ng giya at impormasyon ang lokal na sektor na nagsisimula pa lamang sa alin mang industriya o negosyo sa lalawigan ng Palawan at lungsod gamit ang makabagong teknolohiya.

Sa press conference, ipaliwanang ni Tina Amper, nagtatag ng GOAB, na ang salitang ‘geek’ ay nangangahulugan ng isang taong eksperto patungkol sa partikular na teknolohiya katulad ng computer o nakatuon ang kasanayan sa isang teknolohiya.

Ani pa ni Amper, ipinakikita at itinataguyod ng gawaing ito ang mayamang turismo sa lalawigan at lungsod na isa sa mga ipinagmamalaki ng bansa sa buong mundo, kung saan magttitipon ang mga bihasa sa makabagong teknolohiya.

“Masaya kami na sa aming ika-limang taon, dito isasagawa ang GOAB sa Palawan na kinilala bilang ‘best Island in the world’ ng isang international magazine”, ani Amper.

Kaugnay nito, tinuran ni Undersecretary Monchito Ibrahim ng DICT, bilang kasamang nag-organisa ng kumperensya, isa itong pamamaraan upang makapag-ambag ng kaunlaran sa makabagong lipunan at mahikayat ang mga dayuhang mamumuhunan. “Gusto natin na ma-attract ang mga international or foreign investors, at masiguro na magaling ang ating startups para mahikayat sila na mag-invest sa mga startups na iyon”,pahayag ni Ibrahim.

“Kapag nadala natin sila dito sa Puerto Princesa, bentahe pa ito sa ating ekonomiya at turismo”, dagdag pa ng opisyal.

Samantala, ayon kay Amper, magtitipon sa Geeks on a Beach ang daan-daang negosyante sa teknolohiya at propseyonal maging ang mga kinauukulang ahensiya ng pamahalaan nang makanap ng pamamaraan sa pagdaragdag ng teknolohiya na makakatulong upang solusyunan ang problemang panlipunan at pangkapaligiran ng bansa.
