Tagalog news: Namamahala ng Kayangan Lake sa Coron, sumailalim sa life guard training

PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan, Abril 16 (PIA) --- Sampung katutubong Tagbanua na kabilang sa mga namamahala ng pamosong Kayangan Lake sa bayan ng Coron, Palawan ang isinailalim sa pagsasanay bilang life guard, diver at water rescuer.

Ito ay isinagawa bago ang pagbabalik operasyon ng lawa noong unang linggo ng Abril makaraang isara ito sa mga turista na tumagal din ng dalawang linggo.

Ani Sangguniang Bayan Member Mike Sadwahani, chairman ng committee on tourism, naging magkatuwang ang lokal na pamahalaan at ang katutubong pamayanan sa lugar sa layuning matiyak na ligtas ang sino mang bisitang dadayo sa Kayangan.

Bukod sa pagsasanay, nagsawa rin ng inspeksyon ang LGU sa paligid ng lawa upang alamin ang nararapat at kinakailangang idagdag para sa kaligtasan lalo na ng mga maliligo at sisisid sa lawa.

Magugunitang dalawang turista ang nalunod sa lugar matapos na sisirin nito ang kailaliman ng Kayangan sa kabila nang walang kasamang life guard o tour guide at hindi gumamit ng tangke na maaaring magsilbing hangin sa ilalim ng tubig.

Samantala, kaugnay nito, ikinatuwa naman ng pamahalaang lokal ang pakikipagtulungan ng mga katutubo upang mas mapaayos pa ang pagpapatakbo ng Kayangan Lake.

Dagdag pa ni Sadwahani, hindi naman aniya naka-apekto ng husto sa pagdagsa ng turista sa nasabing bayan ang pagsara kamakailan ng Kayangan sapagkat may mga alternatibong destinasyon at atraksyon pa sila katulad ng Barracuda Lake na madalas ding dayuhin sa lugar. (LBD/PIAMIMAROPA-Palawan)
