6 rebels surrender in Abra

BANGUED, Abra. Mar. 20  (PIA) -- Six former rebels (FRs) were presented last week  to Governor Maria Jocelyn V. Bernos at the Provincial Capitol by the 24th Infantry Battalion.

Three of them are from Sallapadan, one from Tubo, one from Licuan-Baay and one from Lacub.

Each received P65,000 under the Comprehensive Local Integration program of the Department of Interior and Local Government.

Bernos expressed high hopes for all Abrenians who are who are members of the News People’s Army to  realize soon that there is no better battle than to fight for one’s family and loved ones as she  encouraged all of them to come back to their homes and live a  normal life.

“Gumatang ka ti baboy wenno baka.” (Buy pigs or a cow). Bernos urged the FRs. “It’s for your livelihood. Use it to start again please.”   Do not go back   your  the  life as  a rebel.  (GBB- PIA CAR, Abra)

SSS to release P71M for P1,000 benefit under special cases

QUEZON CITY, March 31 --  State-run Social Security System on Thursday said it has released about P71.84 million to its partner banks for the P1,000 additional benefit of the first batch of pensioners under special cases.   SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. 44 barangays in Iligan city conduct barangay assembly

QC opens animal bite treatment center in Batasan

QUEZON CITY, March 31 (PIA)--Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista recently opened a satellite animal bite treatment center in Barangay Batasan Hills.   The newly-inaugurated center now brings to two the number of animal bite facilities maintained by the QC government.
