Cagayan library gives books to municipal libraries

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, March 9 (PIA) - -The Provincial Learning and Resource Center (PLRC) here distributed books to the municipal librarians and representatives of the recipients municipalities as part the celebration of the 117th Public Library Day.

 

Michael Pinto, director, said the books distributed to the towns of Aparri, Baggao, Enrile, Tuao and Camalaniugan here were donated by the University of the East library in Manila.

 

“The book donation aims to assist the municipal libraries to improve their book collection and to encourage them improve their services “said Pinto.

 

Pinto said with the additional books given, the reading habit of the people will be strengthened.

 

Pinto encouraged everyone to make a share in the advocacy and encouraged collaboration with stakeholders.

 

To date, Pinto said, there are only six municipal libraries in the province and is looking forward that with the constant support both from the government and private sectors, all the 28 municipalities here will have their own library. (ALM/MDCT/PIA)
