Surigao Norte guv to deliver 2017 SOPA

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte, July 17 (PIA) – Governor Sol Matugas is set to deliver her State of the Province Address (SOPA) today, July 17, 2017 at the Provincial Convention Center, this city.

This year’s SOPA will be focusing on harmonious partnership to sustain progress through the gains of HEALS  (Health, Education and Environment, Agri-Aquaculture Livelihood and Tourism, Social Services) PLUS agenda, and in shaping “Bag-ong Surigao” (new Surigao).

Governor Matugas will underline her legacy for the three uninterrupted terms of her administration, after winning a fresh mandate form her constituents.

She will expound on how she developed the infrastructure base, promoted transparency and good governance and expanded HEALS program.

In addition, she will also highlight several infrastracture projects that were completed in Siargao Island and mainland Surigao del Norte, as well as the major projects that are still on-going.

With all the effort of the 1st district congressman Bingo Matugas, the province has seen all the successful implementation of several infrastructure projects implemented through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), TIEZA and the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

For the infrastructure development in the mainland, more roads were rehabilitated, improved, maintained and constructed, and other remaining projects are still on-going.

Various projects were also completed for government services and there are still on-going constructions pursued by the administration.

Moreover, land development structures were also 100 percent completed, as well as other structures that provide support for the delivery of basic services.

Since the day she assumed responsibility, the governor has initiated and sustained concrete reforms in upholding and maintaining good governance in the context of promoting transparency and accountability, providing and promoting public participation and empowering local government units (LGUs), ensuring responsive services and policies, strengthening local revenue generations and developing the human resource.
