Cultural center itatayo sa Sorsogon City

LUNGSOD NG SORSOGON, Mayo 17 (PIA)—Idinaos nang nakaraang Biyernes ang groundbreaking ceremonies para sa itatayong gusali na magsisilbing tahanan ng natatanging sining at kultura ng Sorsogon.

Ang paglalatag ng timeline sa pagpapatayo ng Sorsogon Cultural Center sa Sorsogon City Hall compound ay pinangunahan nina Sorsogon 1st District Rep. Evelina G.Escudero, Vice Governor Ester Hamor, at City Mayor Sally A. Lee at  Commissioner Teddy O. Co, pinuno ng  National  Committee on Cinema.

Sa kanyang mensahe, inihayag  ni Cong. Escudero na ang nasabing pasilidad ay nilaanan ng pondong P200 million mula sa General Appropriations Act.

Ayon kay Escudero, masisimulan na ang proyekto dahil naisalin na sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sorsogon  1st D District Engineering Office ang paunang pondo sa halagang P20 million.

Sa kanyang tugon, sinabi ni Commissioner Co na maituturing niyang pangalawa sa Cultural Center of the Philippines ang itatayong SCC dahil mapapangalagaan nito ang mga natatanging sining at kultura hindi lamang sa Sorsogon kundi maging yaong nagmula sa ibang bahagi ng bansa.

Sa pagkakaroon aniya ng cultural center sa Sorsogon, inaasahan nang maraming artista , mananayaw, mang-aawit, arkitekto at designers ang matutuksong manirahan sa lalawigan dahil sa tawag ng sining.

Prinisinta at ipinaliwanag naman ni District Engineer Ignacio Odiaman ang kahalagahan ng  paglalatag ng time capsule at ang mga simbolong nakapaloob dito.

Alinsunod din aniya sa plano ng DPWH, tatalima sa standard  at National Building Code ang nasabing pasilidad.

Bilang tugon, nagpahayag ng lubos na suporta sa  proyekto ang mga opisyal kabilang sina Hamor, Lee, at Schools Division Superitendent Nympha Guemo. (EAD/FBTumalad, PIA 5/Sorsogon)
