OWWA 12 leads 5th OFC Youth Sports Festival

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato, May 16 (PIA) – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region 12 once again gathered OFW dependents for this year’s OFW Family Circle (OFC) Youth Sports Festival.


Now on its 5th year, the OFC Youth Sports Festival aims to strengthen OFW youth organizations in the region.


According to OWWA 12 OIC Director Marlyn Jamero, some 123 members of various youth organizations in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region joined this year’s sportsfest held at the South Cotabato Sports Complex.


Jamero said the activity aims to provide an opportunity for the younger generation to enhance their personalities through leadership, diversity and teamwork.


“This event will help promote holistic lifestyle, instill value of sportsmanship, and build camaraderie among the different OFW youth organizations in the region,” Jamero added.


The participants were divided into four competing groups representing their respective team colors.


This year’s sportsfest showcased various Filipino traditional games and activities which include Patintero, Dancing Ball with a Twist, Chinese Garter, Sipa, Modified Slipper Game, Amazing Race and Quiz Bowl Competition. (ORVRivera-PIA12 with report from OWWA 12)
