Tagalog news: Brgy. Mayamot Senior Citizens Association, tumanggap ng halos P172K

LUNGSOD NG ANTIPOLO, Rizal, Agosto 9 (PIA)--Nakatanggap kamakailan ang Brgy. Mayamot Senior Citizen Association (BMSCA) ng halagang P171,600 mula sa nalikom na salapi ng programang “HANDOG: Musika, Saya, Atbp.”

 

Ang programa ay layong matulungan ang mga nakatatandang miyembro ng komunidad, gayundin ang paglulunsad ng mas marami pang programang tutungon sa kanilang mga pangangailangan.

 

Sinabi ni Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares, na nakakabilib ang tapang at katatagan ng mga senior citizens sa pagharap nila sa mga pagsubok ng buhay. Ibig ring pasalamatan ng alkalde ang mga senior citizens ng lungsod para sa kanilang walang patid na pakikipagtulungan sa mga aktibidad ng lokal na pamahalaan. Aniya, malaki ang pagpapahalaga sa mga kababayan nating may edad kaya naman tuloy-tuloy ang mga programang isinasagawa upang sila ay matulungan.

 

Pinangasiwaan nina Punong Barangay Pablo Oldan at SCCA Founder, Bro. Tony Vera Cruz ang pagbibigay ng check kay BMSCA, Senior Citizen President Lima Manalang. Naging bahagi din ng pagdiriwang ang pagtanggap ni PB Oldan ng plake bilang pagkilala sa kaniyang suporta sa mga senior citizen ng kanilang barangay. Nakiisa rin sa okasyon ang mga kawani ng lokal na barangay, gayundin ang mga SCCA volunteer.

 

Sa kasalukuyan, umabot na sa 3, 000 ang miyembro ng asusasyon na nagmula pa sa 37 na sitios sa siyudad. Ilalaan ang natanggap na salapi bilang pangtustos at panlunsad sa mga proyekto ng BMSCA tulad ng supplemental feeding program, medical mission, birthday at burial assistance. Kasama rin nito ang pagpapatuloy at pagpapaigting ng mga benepisyong nakukuha ng kanilang mga miyembro.

 

Bukod sa nakukuhang 20 porsyento discount sa kanilang mga bilihin, handog din ng pamahalaang lungsod para sa mga senior citizens ang libreng cake tuwing kanilang kaarawan at libreng panunuod ng sine sa mga malls sa Antipolo tuwing Lunes at Martes. (PIA-Rizal/P. Cabasbas, Antipolo PIO)
