Tagalog news: 'World War II Memorial Monument and Marker' sa bayan ng Banton pinasinayaan

BANTON, Romblon, Abril 22 (PIA) --- Kasabay ng ika-395 selebrasyon ng pagkakatatag ng bayan ng Banton, Romblon noong Abril 16, pinasinayaan at pormal nang binuksan sa publiko ang World War II Memorial Monument and Marker na matatagpuan malapit sa munisipyo.

Ang bantayog na may kasamang marker ay simbolo ng kabayanihan ng mga beterenano ng Banton na nakipaglaban sa mga Hapon noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig.

Dumalo sa naturang aktibidad ang mga kapamilya ng mga beteranong sundalo, mga kawani ng pamahalaang bayan, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, mga barangay opisyal at mga bakasyunista.

Nag-alay rin ng bulaklak ang mga taga-Banton sa pangunguna ni dating Mayor Joseph Faderanga at sinundan ito ng 21-gun salute mula sa hanay ng kapulisan ng Banton Municipal Police Station sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Police Inspector Saturnino Galicia.

“Alay ang panandang bato na ito sa mga Beterano at para sa Kalayaang nakamit ng bayan ng Banton sa pananakop ng mga Hapon kung kaya ang lugar na ito ay lunan ng sakripisyo at kabayanihan ng mga Beterano noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig,” matalinhagang pahayag ni Faderanga sa kanyang talumpati.(DM/PIA-MIMAROPA/Romblon)
