BUTUAN CITY, July 11 (PIA) – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is once again spearheading activities in line with this year’s National Science and Technology Week on August 8-11.
According to DOST Caraga regional director Dominga Mallonga, the celebration aims at showing the DOST-developed world-class technologies, and the programs and services offered by the department.
“It will also become an avenue for stakeholders from different sectors to converge for Science and Technology in the region. There will be exhibits, launching of the Food Innovation Center, Technology Forum, and Science and Technology contests among others,” underlined Mallonga.
The NSTW is celebrated every third week of July yearly through Proclamation No. 169 of 1993. It aims to recognize the contribution of science and technology in the development of the country and garner support from the public and private institutions for its sustainable development.
The 2017 NSTW is anchored on the theme, “Science for the People.” (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
