ASEAN Landmark Lantern, pinailawan sa Lungsod Agham ng Muñoz

LUNGSOD AGHAM NG MUÑOZ, Agosto 8 (PIA) -- Hindi pahuhuli sa makasaysayang pagdiriwang ng ika-50 anibersayo ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations o ASEAN ang pamahalaang lungsod Agham ng Muñoz na nakisabay sa pagpapailaw ng landmark lantern sa harap mismo ng punong tanggapan. 

 

Ayon kay City Mayor Nestor Alvarez, mapalad ang siyudad na mapabilang sa mga lokalidad na nakapagdaos ng sabayang aktibidad hindi lamang sa buong Luzon kundi sa buong bansa na sama-samang natunghayan ng mga kawani, mag-aaral, simpleng mamamayang nasasakupan. 

 

Aniya, isa itong mahalagang gawain na nagpapakita ng matibay na pagkakaisa at kooperasyong nabuo sa pamamagitan ng mga bansa sa Timog Silangang Asya limampung-taon na ang nakararaan na may layuning maiangat ang pangunawa ng nakararami sa kahalagahan at benepisyong dulot ng pagiging bahagi ng ASEAN community.

 

Dagdag pang pahayag ni Alvarez, ang dala nitong liwanag ay nagsisilbi ding paalala upang gawing inspirasyon na magkaisa’t magsama-sama tungo sa lalong ikauunlad ng Pilipinas at mga kapwa miyembro ng ASEAN.

 

Dinggin nawa aniya ng lahat ang mensaheng nais iparating ng pagdiriwang na anumang lahi o kulay mayroon tayo ay makakarugtong ang ating buhay sa ilalim ng isang samahan na ating sandalan at sandigan sa pagharap sa kinabukasan at dala-dala sa anumang aspeto ng pamumuhay. 

 

Samantala, kabilang sa mga itinampok sa pagdiriwang ay ang pagpapamalas ng angking talento ng mga iskolar ng siyudad na nagpakita ng iba’t ibang kultura ng bansa gayundin ang fireworks display na sinundan ng street party.

 

Ayon sa City Tourism Office, matapos ang gabing ito ay makikita pa ding maliwanag at nakasindi ang mga lantern hanggang sa Enero ng susunod na taon sa pagdiriwang ng taunang Uhay Festival. (CLJD/CCN-PIA 3)
