Kalinga network of government communicators organized

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, July 10 (PIA) - -  Information officers of the different line agencies  and local government  units in the province recently  organized themselves  as the    iKalinga Network of Information Officers and Workers or Iknow,  to  work together  in communicating government programs and services to the public .

 The group also elected its first set of officers and ratified its constitution and by-laws.

Elected president is Marciano Paroy Jr. of the Kalinga State University and Geraldine Dumallig of Tabuk City Information Office as vice president. Other officers elected are: Hazel Gup-ay of DZRK Radyo Pilipinas- secretary; Maria Cecilia Baral of DTI - Treasurer; Christel Joanna Baac of   provincial local government unit– Auditor; Jane Bugtong of DPWH – Public Relations Officer.

Board of Advisers  is composed  of  Estanislao Albano Jr. of the City Information Office, Ruben Wacas of CSC and Edwin Muyao of DAR.

Legal Advisers are Atty. Ceferino Calsiyao of the City Prosecutors Office and Atty. Roxan Bencio of the Public Attorneys’ Office.

Its planned first activity is to conduct training for members in order to learn basic writing, broadcasting and social media.

Organizing communication networks nationwide is in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s desire to connect to communities. This is an   initiative of the   Presidential Communications Operations Office to   connect the agencies and LGUs in coming up with timely, relevant and accurate information for dissemination.  It helps provide platforms for LGU counterparts and other government information officers to inform the public about government policies, programs and accomplishments. SSS ready to implement EC Funeral benefit hike in 1 month from effectivity date

BUTUAN CITY, July 21 - State-run Social Security System (SSS) on Thursday said it is ready to implement the recently issued Executive Order No. 33 by President Rodrigo Duterte ordering the increase of the Employees’ Compensation (EC) funeral benefits for government and private sector employees from P20,000 to P30,000 within 30 days from the publication date of the Implementing Rules and Regulations to be issued by the Employees’ Compensation Commission.
