Tagalog News: Mayor Rivera nanumpa bilang bagong RDC-XII Chairperson

LUNGSOD NG HENERAL SANTOS, Marso 16 (PIA)—Nanumpa kahapon bilang bagong Chairperson ng Regional Development Council (RDC) XII si Mayor Ronnel Rivera sa harap ni RTC Branch 35 Executive Judge Oscar Noel.


Sa unang pagkakataon, pinamunoan ni Rivera ang ika 57 regular meeting ng RDC XII na isinagawa sa Family Country Hotel and Convention Center dito sa lungsod kung saan tinalakay ng konseho ang mga nakabinbing usaping pangkaunlaran sa buong rehiyon at inaprobahan ang mga plano para sa isasagawang mga proyekto sa lugar.


Matatandaan na noong Setyembre 2016 isa si Rivera sa dalawang mayor na nominado ng RDC XII upang mamuno sa konseho sa loob ng tatlong taon kasabay ng dalawang iba pang mga lider ng pribadong sektor.


Una ng sinabi ni National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) 12 Regional Director Arturo Valerio na ang pagtalaga ng bagong chair at co-chair ng konseho ay base sa desisyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.


Dagdag pa nito nakasaad sa Executive Order No. 325 series of 1996 na sakaling ang chairman ng konseho ay isang inihalal na opisyal, ang co-chair ay dapat magmula sa pribadong sektor.


Bago pa man ang pagtalaga kay Rivera, nilinaw ni Valerio na ang mga nominado ay una ng pinagsumite ng clearance mula sa Office of the Ombudsman, National Bureau of Investigation at Sandiganbayan.


Si Valerio ang tumayong chairperson ng RDC XII simula Hulyo 2013 kapalit ni dating Mayor Darlene Antonino-Custodio sa pagtatapos ng termino nito. (PGFruylan/PIA12-Gensan)
