  • July 13, 2017

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato July13 (PIA) – The Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in SOCCSKSARGEN region is united in backing the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao by President Duterte.

To this effect, nine resolutions expressing support to the martial law declaration were presented at the recent Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Meeting, held at Kings Hall, Capitol Building in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The declaration of support came from some local peace and order councils, and the League of Municipalities (LMP) of Sultan Kudarat with Lambayong mayor Ramon Abalos as president.

RPOC 12 chair and Sultan Kudarat Governor Pax Mangudadatu said that with the perpetuation of peace and order in the area as the end-result of Duterte’s Martial Law declaration, he will always throw his support to the President.

Not even the recent NAPOLCOM’s order stripping of his deputation power over the local police can stop him from working for peace in the area. He stressed “the order has no effect in my support to the efforts of the PNP and the AFP in the province of Sultan Kudarat in keeping the Christians & Muslims live in peaceful co-existence.”

He said, he welcomed the declaration Martial Law to spare the province from hostility happening in neighboring areas.

Governor Mangudadatu, along with his 12 local chief executives and Cotabato City mayor Cynthia Guiani were recently withdrawn deputation power over the local PNP by the National Police Commission.

NAPOLCOM Commissioner on law enforcement Retired PNP director Felizardo Serapio Jr.  raised at the RPOC 12 meeting that the listing of the LCEs stripped with deputation powers, the timing and some problems on procedures are the issues and concerns that the commission is now addressing. He has been busy making rounds of consultations with different local chief executives of Mindanao. (ACAgad PIA 12)
