DOLE provides livelihood assistance to Ifugao group

BANAUE, Ifugao, July 10(PIA) - - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the province recently awarded  assistance for   swine raising project  under its Community Enterprise Development program  to  the Mohicans Organization of Bae   in barangay Poitan in this town.

DOLE personnel and Governor Pedro Mayam-o awarded water pumps, piglets and feeds to the organization.

The DOLE reminded the beneficiaries that under the memorandun of agreement, the project is still owned by the agency for a period of three years. Within this period, it shall be regularly monitored to ensure a smooth implementation and that the responsibilities of all parties are effectively carried out.

After three years and is there is no major violation by any party, the project will be fully turned-over to the organization for ownership.  The performance of the organization will determine whether DOLE will approve succeeding assistance to the group  or to  other groups in the community. A good implementation of the project may warrant succeeding assistance from the DOLE while poor implementation might hinder future assistance.

Meanwhile, Mayam-o said that he wanted to personally visit the organization in order to have a first-hand information on the situations and status of the group. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)

WV crime volume dips by 8.5%

ILOILO CITY, July 19 (PIA6) ---  The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 reported that crime volume in Western Visayas decreased by 8.5 percent. Data from the PRO-6 Crime Information, Reporting and Analysis System (CIRAS) showed that 36,690 crime incidents were recorded for the period July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.
