Tagalog News: Mga magsasaka ng kape  sa  South Cotabato  tumanggap ng tulong mula sa PRDP

LUNGSOD NG KORONADAL, South Cotabato, Ago. 9 (PIA) --  Inaasahan ang paglago ng pagsasaka ng  kape sa  South Cotabato matapos ang pagpapatupad  dito ng isang proyekto  para sa produksyon at pagpapabili ng dried  green coffee  beans.

 

Kamakailan, iniabot ni  Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol  ang pondong P2.06 million sa Tupi Coffee Growers’ Association, Inc. (TUCOGAI) para masimulan na ang proyektong Enhancement  of  Production and Marketing of  Dried Green  Coffee  Beans” na may kabuuang halaga  na P17.9 milyon.

 

Pinondohan ng  ang naturang proyekto ng Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) ng Department of Agriculture.

 

Ayon kay DA 12 Regional Executive Director Milagros Casis,  ang paunang pondo ay nakalaan para sa pagbili ng kagamitan ng  TUCOGAI  tulad ng coffee dehuller, weighing scale, moisture meter, trailer, at washing tub para masimulan na ang proyekto.

 

Sa naturang proyekto  magsisilbing consolidator ang TUCOGAI ng produktong  dried green coffee beans  ng  iba pang mga kooperatiba, kabilang ang  Tampakan Coffee and Cacao Growers, Kinilis Farmers Cooperative sa Polomolok, Sawmill Coconut Farmers Association sa Surallah, Lambangan People’s Organization sa Tboli, at Ned Landcare Association sa Lake Sebu.  

 

Makikinabang  dito ang hindi bababa sa 1,697 na magsasaka ng  kape  sa South Cotabato  at maaring magpapalapad  ng taniman ng kape  sa lalawigan sa halos 2,000  ektarya. (DEDoguiles-PIA12)
