Tagalog News:  Mga magsasaka  sa  Koronadal  hinihikayat  na matanim  ng  drought-resistant  crops

LUNGSOD NG  KORONADAL, South Cotabato, Apr. 20 (PIA) --  Kasabay  ng pag-igting ng tag-init, hiniling ng  City Agriculture  Office  ng  Koronadal sa mga magsasaka   na magtanim ng mga pananim angkop sa summer  season  tulad ng  mongo at  string beans.

 

Sa isang panayam binigyang-diin ni city agriculturist  Ma. Emelita Miguel  na pagkakataon  ang  summer season para mapagpahinga ang sakahan, lalung lalo  na ang palayan. Sa halip, tamnan ito ng  mga ibang mapagkakakitaan. halimbawa mongo  na tinawatag ding  leguminous crop  na  mapakikinabangan din  sa patabang dulot nito sa  sakahan.

 

Gayunman, nilinaw  ng opisyal na  hindi na gaanong  makakaapekto ang   tag-init sa  mga magsasaka  sa lungsod  dahil mahigit 70 porsiyento  ng  palayan sa  lungsod  ay naaani  na.

 

Samantala, inihayag ni Gng. Miguel na epektibo  na ang mas mataas ng insentibo na  ibinibigay  ng  pamahalaang  panlugsod  sa mga magsasakang nagtataguyod ng  organikong pagsasaka.

 

Sa  bawat kilo ng organikong  baboy, P20 ang insentibong matatanggap ng  isang magsasaka,  P10 bawat kilo sa leafy vegetable  at  P2 kada  kilo sa  mga fruit vegetable  tulad ng  kalabasa.   Karagdagan ito sa kanilang  kinikita sa pagpapabili ng  mga organikong produkto na mas  mahal kung ikukumpara sa mga di-organikong produkto.
