DAVAO CITY- The proposed P20-million Lingap Center building has been approved by the Sangguniang Panglungsod (City Council) of Davao City.
The three-story building which will be situated at the compound of the Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC) will be a one-stop shop for social services. Particularly the facilitation and approval of medical assistance for residents in need.
The Lingap Para sa Mahirap (Aid for the Poor) is a program of the local government of Davao City established by former Mayor now Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte in 2001.
Lingap provide varieties of health assistance such as hospital financial assistance, funeral/burial assistance and pharmaceutical assistance. Hospital assistance is provided by the Department of Health and the SPMC.
The building will house different government agencies that would expedite the processing of assistance and providing convenience to the beneficiaries. (PIA/RG Alama)
