PRRD urges Mayors to keep their towns safe

DAVAO CITY March 15 (PIA)- “Tulungan ninyo ako kasi Pilipino itong nakataya dito eh.” (Help me because Filipinos are at stake here.) President Rodrigo Duterte exhorted municipal mayors to help him in keeping their localities safe from crime, drugs, corruption and extremism.

 

The President delivered his speech last Tuesday (March 14) at the 1st General Assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) held at the Manila Hotel in Manila.

 

The President in his talk advised the town mayors to use their police force in addressing the problems within their jurisdiction.

 

He urged local government units to invest and mayors to personally anti-drugs and anti-criminality operations. The President encouraged the mayors to install CCTV cameras to enhance security in their areas.

 

The assembly was attended by over 1,000 local chief executives from different municipalities across the country. The assembly carries the theme Pagkakaisa ng LMP Laban sa Droga, Korapsyon and Kriminalidad.” (Unity of LMP in the fight against drugs, corruption and criminality). (PIA/RG Alama)
