PAGADIAN CITY, 11 Aug. (PIA) – PSupt. Benito Ricopuerto is now the new chief of police of the Pagadian City Police Station.

In a simple turn-over ceremony held yesterday at the conference room of the PNP station here, PSupt. Ricopuerto was installed as the new chief of police by PNP Provincial Director PSSupt. Alan Nazaro in the presence of Mayor Romeo P. Pulmones and Vice Mayor Ernesto A. Mondarte.

PSupt. Ricopuerto, who hails from Ilocos Sur was formerly assigned at the National Capital Region (NCR), replaces PSupt. Kiram Jimlani, who served for eight (8) months as Pagadian City police chief.

In his message, Ricopuerto said, under his term he will look forward to building  closer ties between the PNP personnel and civilian populace. He also urged the public not to hesitate to report  any issues or problems that they may encounter.

The new chief admitted that there are some units in the police force that are not friendly or courteous in attending to their clients who seek for help.

With this, he encouraged his men to establish closer ties with the public. “We are here to serve the people,” he stressed. (ALT/CAL/PIA9-Zamboanga del Sur)
