MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, July 11 (PIA) - The Camp Alfredo K. Bantug Philippine National Police (PNP) office based here will soon house an additional structure, the new police provincial office.
It is a three-story building to be built at a cost of P 10.4 Million, said Police Sr. Supt. Warren De Leon, PNP provincial director.
Work on the project is expected to start as soon as the money can be downloaded, De Leon said during the fourth monthly press conference “Balitang Kasaligan” last week.
Winning contractor was JA construction, De Leon added.
The old PNP building, which is as old as the establishment of the province, will have to be preserved for some other purposes, De Leon said, suggesting that the new SLPPO will stand somewhere in the compound’s open, grassy space.
In a related development, De Leon said several municipal police stations are now undergoing construction, such in Hinundayan, Macrohon, and San Francisco, while other LGUs without own/ donated lots still lack such facility.
These included Anahawan, Silago, San Ricardo, Bontoc, Liloan, and Malitbog.
But Bontoc, Liloan, and Malitbog are in the process of negotiating deals to secure lots for their own municipal police stations, De Leon further informed. (mmp/PIA8-Southern Leyte)
